With a holistic approach, Dr. Alison Richards provides evidence-based patient-centred care with a commitment to quality care. Dr Alison Richards is the kind of doctor who listens carefully and ensures you understand everything being said.
Dr Alison has competed a Diploma of Child Health and is interested in all aspects of paediatrics, especially supporting infants in the fist year of life a time know as the ‘perinatal period’. She is also passionate about women’s health including mental health, sexual health pregnancy care, postpartum care, and other gynaecological issue.
These are longer consultations to try and comprehensively address the following:
Pregnancy Planning:
-Pregnancy planning, investigations, blood tests, genetic screening
Pregnancy:
-New Pregnancy confirmation and management
-Pregnancy Medical advice, guidance and referral
-Pregnancy wellness consultations
-Pregnancy consultation, preparing for birth and parenting
-Perinatal mental health assessment and management
Postnatal:
-Mum and body postnatal medical review and checkups at any stage in the first 12 Months
-Newborn examinations and body checkup
-6-week mum and baby check
-Postnatal contraception advice
-Breastfeeding and bottle feeding advice, support and troubleshooting
-Preventative health and vaccine advice for mums and babies
-Postnatal mental health concerns
Dr Alison Richards graduated from the Royal Free Hospital in London in 2000 with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery and is a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. Additionally, She holds a postgraduate diploma in child health. Her special interests include women’s health, children’s health, mental heath, sexual health, and chronic disease management.
